Could this book be a good choice for your next Bible study?  The book is divided into thirteen chapters with study questions at the end of each one to make it especially practical to use for small groups.

This book is written for those who find themselves oppressed by life’s circumstances.  Firmly believing that the Bible holds the keys to breaking bondage, the reader is encouraged to seek to discover the entry point of the oppression so that the event can be renounced or nullified and the resulting freedom maintained.

This book is written for those who minister to those in bondage.  Whether ordained ministers or lay members of the Body of Christ, these students can be instrumental in leading the oppressed out of darkness in the light which exposes the truth and sets prisoners free!

Why I Wrote The Book

After arriving in Brazil, a country filled with many spiritist movements, I began to realize how little I understood the spirit world.  So at the age of 26, I began a life-long study of this subject. After reading many books over many years, I had the opportunity of pursuing a doctoral degree in missiology at Trinity International University.  There I studied several courses on the spiritual world under such renowned professors at Dr. Neil Anderson, Dr. Paul Hiebert and Dr. Tim Warner.

In 1996 I was invited to teach in the Intercultural Studies Department of Southwestern Assemblies of God University and to write a course on UNDERSTANDING THE SPIRIT WORLD.  So many students told me that they had never had an opportunity to study this subject in an organized, systematic way. And a number of students told me that grasping truths about the spirit world changed their lives.

When I retired from classroom teaching at SAGU, many students and fellow professors encouraged me to use my class notes from the course to write a book as a means to bring freedom from oppression to many believers who love the Lord but still struggle with bondage in their lives.

What is Spiritual Warfare?

About The Author, His Work and Faith

Meet Dr. Gary Royer

Born in Illinois, one of ten children of a pastor of rural churches, Gary began preaching and teaching as a teenager. At the age of 18 while a freshman in college, he accepted the pastorate of a country church near Greenville University where he majored in education. After pastoring for nine years in Illinois, Gary with his wife and two sons, moved to Brazil where he teamed up with several other missionaries to open four Bible colleges. Gary was mainly involved in writing curriculum. Returning to the states in 1985, Gary traveled extensively throughout the States, conducting Spiritual Warfare seminars and raising funds for Latin America ChildCare. Gary has also conducted seminars in South America, Africa and India.

Statement of Faith

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth,

and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended to the dead.

The third day he arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy universal Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.

Mission Statement

I firmly believe that the Bible holds the keys for victorious living, free from the oppression caused by life’s experiences. I have discovered seven areas of oppression for which the Bible gives the recipe for victory. It is my desire that this book will assist the reader to discern the area of oppression so that a plan of action can be taken to walk out of that given darkness in His wonderful light of freedom.
